Argentina Lodging

Estancia La Pelada is the perfect Argentina duck hunting lodge. It sits on the banks of the Corriente River, 35 kilometers north of the confluence of the Corriente and the enormous Parana River. The combination of the immense fly ways and deltas make this area a haven for waterfowl.  In addition to these marshlands, La Pelada Ranch has many shallow lagoons scattered across its 25,000 acres which also support thousands or ducks and wildlife.

Meals are cooked in the traditional Argentine fashion including delicious specialty meats and fruits from the region which are complimented by the best wines from the province of Mendoza. In the winter time meals are served in the elegant dinning room. However, in the warmer months, lunch and breakfast are enjoyed outside under the veranda. Nothing beats sitting in the veranda with cocktail in hand and watching the sun set over the Corriente River.

Although this Spanish Colonial style estancia has an ancient feel, it is only about 40 years old. This is a working cattle and horse ranch with 10 gauchos working year round. Some of the finest and rarest polo horses in Argentina are kept here at Estancia La Pelada.

Although La Pelada is a ranch it is quiet apparent that you are in someone’s home and one can’t help but feel privileged to be there.  With gracious hosts, excellent service and incredible views it will impress the most discriminating international hunter. The estancia holds eights guests in elegant European style rooms all with private baths.

For groups larger than 8 persons we use La Pelada’s sister lodge, Posada Hambare, located in the town of Esquina on the Corriente River. This lodge has 20 rooms and can hold as many as 50 guests.

Non-Shooing Guests:

Non-Shooting guests enjoy the pool, bird watching, horseback rides and hikes. Bird watchers will enjoy a day with our bilingual guide Marcelo Gianchinni. Marcelo is an avid birder and wildlife painter. He will identify almost all birds and other wildlife you will see. He also takes guests out on horseback or via car to the many lagoons on the property which always hold capybara, caiman and thousands of birds.
Estancia La Pelada is also the perfect place to learn how to play polo. The ranch owner will happily offer lessons to the notice or advanced player.

Relaxing at the estancia is also enjoyable with a pool, reclining chairs and a veranda to escape the sun. The pool and veranda look out over the Corriente River. A guide will accompany our guest for lunch and tour of the historic town of Esquina or perhaps to a neighboring ranch.

Spa Services are also easily assessable via a 45 minute drive to the town of La Paz.
